Toddler suffers serious burns to his feet at splash pad

On a very hot day in a Greenwood, IN, public park, a young toddler walked away from his mother onto the “splashpad” made of an asphalt like material.  The child began screaming and the mother ultimately put his shoes back on and took him to the doctor’s. He suffered 2nd Degree burns on the bottoms of his feet.​  Park officials are now warning parents that on hot days, ground surfaces will heat up!
