    Hazard: Using alcohol-fueled FLIKRFIRE Tabletop Fireplaces can cause uncontrollable pool fires in which flames burn across the surface of pooled or spilled alcohol, as well as flame jetting from fuel containers, resulting in serious or fatal burns.

    Consumer Action: Consumers should immediately stop using and dispose of these dangerous products.

    Description:

    Washington, D.C. — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers that using alcohol-fueled FLIKRFIRE Tabletop Fireplaces can cause uncontrollable pool fires in which flames burn across the surface of pooled or spilled alcohol, as well as flame jetting from fuel containers, resulting in serious or fatal burns. Consumers should immediately stop using and dispose of these dangerous products.

    Flame jetting contributed to the June 2024 death of an elderly couple who were seriously burned when a third person attempted to refill a FLIKRFIRE that appeared to be extinguished. In at least three other incidents, FLIKRFIRE use has resulted in third or fourth degree burns to extensive areas of consumers’ bodies.

    FLIKRFIRE Tabletop Fireplaces are small, decorative bowls or open containers that require consumers to pour isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol into the bowl and then ignite the pooled alcohol in the same location it was poured. Requiring consumers to take these two steps to use the product violates voluntary safety standard ASTM F3363-19, which is designed to prevent pool fires and flame jetting in fire pit products that burn liquids.

    Isopropyl alcohol burns with flame temperatures over 1,600°F and can cause third degree burns in less than one second. Igniting pooled alcohol in the FLIKRFIRE bowl creates an uncontrollable pool fire, which can suddenly produce larger, hotter flames that can spread beyond the product. 

    Flame jetting, a second hazard, can occur when refilling a FLIKRFIRE if any flame is present. A flame in a FLIKRFIRE can be hard to see and can ignite alcohol as it is poured and cause an explosion that propels flames and burning liquid onto the consumer or bystanders.

    FLIKR LLC, the manufacturer of FLIKRFIRE Tabletop Fireplaces, is no longer in business and has not agreed to provide a recall remedy for consumers. Seera Creative LLC, the prior manufacturer of the FLIKRFIRE fireplaces, is also no longer in business. 

    FLIKRFIRE Tabletop Fireplaces were sold online, including at Amazon.com, BespokePost.com, Faire.com, Shopify.com, Hirschpromo.com, Wix.com, Huckberry.com, TouchofModern.com, Macys.com, Nordstroms.com, CB2.com, and NeimanMarcus.com for between $35 and $105 from 2018 through 2024.

  • Magnetic Building Sticks Sets Recalled Due to Ingestion Hazard; Violation of Federal Regulations for Toy Magnets; Sold Exclusively on Amazon.com by Elongdi

    Name of Product: Elongdi Magnetic Building Sticks Sets

    Hazard: The recalled magnetic building sticks set violates the mandatory federal regulation for magnet toys posing an ingestion hazard. When high-powered magnets are swallowed, the ingested magnets can attract each other, or another metal object, and become lodged in the digestive system. This can result in perforations, twisting and/or blockage of the intestines, infection, blood poisoning and death.

    Units: About 500

    Description: This recall involves multicolored magnetic building sticks sets with 130 pieces with 100 magnetic sticks and are plastic and metal. The sets are sold in a box with the “Elongdi” logo and the words “Magnetic Sticks” on the front and back of the box. The set includes 30 steel balls. The item number is E107.

    Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled magnetic building stick sets immediately, take them away from children, and contact Elongdi to receive a pre-paid label to return the recalled magnetic building sticks for a full refund. Amazon is notifying all known purchasers directly.

    Incidents/Injuries: None reported. CPSC estimates 2,400 magnet ingestions were treated in hospital emergency departments from 2017 through 2021. CPSC is aware of eight deaths since 2005 through 2021 involving the ingestion of hazardous magnets, including two outside of the United States.

    Description: This recall involves the Yoto Mini, a portable connected screen-free speaker intended for children ages three to twelve. The Yoto Mini is operated by use of Yoto cards and is designed to play audiobooks, music, radio and podcasts. The speakers are pale gray with orange tactile controls and a pixel display. The model name Yoto Mini, SKU PRPLXX00860, and serial number are located on the base of the product. The recalled Yoto Mini was sold with a charging cable included but no adaptor or charger.

    Note: Recalled lithium-ion batteries should be disposed of in accordance with any local and state ordinances, following the procedures established by your municipal recycling center for damaged/defective/recalled lithium batteries, because these potentially hazardous batteries must be handled differently than other batteries. Do not throw this recalled battery in the trash. Do not deposit this recalled battery in used battery recycling boxes found at various retail and home improvement stores.

    Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled speakers, take them away from children and contact Yoto to receive a free battery replacement kit. Consumers should request the battery replacement kit even if they already received the smart cable in the April 2024 recall. Consumers should dispose of lithium-ion batteries in accordance with local and state regulations and not in the trash.

    Incidents/Injuries: Yoto has received nine reports from U.S. consumers and three from a UK consumer of the speaker overheating or melting. No injuries have been reported.

    Sold At: Online at us.yotoplay.com, Amazon.com, Target.com and maisonette.com, and in toy and gift stores nationwide from November 2021 through April 2024 for about $70.

    Description: This recall involves two models of the PowerXL dual-basket air fryer. The egg-shaped air fryers have two baskets that can be used separately or optionally combined into one large single basket.  The recalled air fryers were sold in black or cinnamon colors. The 10-quart DUAF-10 model is about 17 inches long by 16 inches wide by 12 1/2 inches tall, and weighs about 14 1/2 pounds. The 9-quart DUAF-005 model is about 14 inches long by 13 inches wide by 15 inches tall, and weighs about 14 pounds. The product has a silver label on the front that says “PowerXL”. There is a white label on the bottom of each unit or on the unit’s power cord that lists the model number.

    Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled dual basket air fryers and contact Empower Brands to receive a full refund.

    Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received 41 reports of the product breaking during use, including three reports of burns.

  • CPSC Warns Consumers to Immediately Stop Using NLFGUW Electric Gel Ball Blaster Toy Guns Due to Eye Injury Hazard; Violation of the Federal Regulations for Projectile Toys; Sold by US TK on Amazon.com

    WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to immediately stop using NLFGUW electric gel ball blaster toy guns. The toy guns fail to comply with federal safety regulations for projectile toys, so that the projectile’s impact can injure a child’s eye.

    The CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to the seller, US TK, of China, but the firm has not been responsive to CPSC’s request for a recall of this product.

    The toy guns were sold in pink camo and came with goggles, a USB charger, gel beads, a gel bead hopper, a connector, a gun head, a rechargeable battery, a USB cable and a target. “NLFGUW M416 ASSAULT RIFLE” and “GEL BALL BLASTER” are printed on the package. The toy guns were sold online at www.amazon.com from April 2023 through September 2024 for about $29.

    CPSC urges consumers to stop using the toy guns immediately and dispose of them in accordance with local disposal requirements. Do not sell or give away these hazardous toy guns.

    Name of Product: Yoocaa baby loungers

    Hazard: The recalled loungers fail to meet the safety requirements of CPSC’s Infant Sleep Products Rule, creating an unsafe sleeping environment for infants and posing a suffocation risk and fall and entrapment hazards to infants. The failures include not having a stand and not meeting the requirements for side height and fabric-sided openings. The product’s sides are shorter than the minimum side height limit; the sleeping pad’s thickness exceeds the maximum limit; and an infant could fall out of an enclosed opening at the foot of the lounger or become entrapped.

    Description: This recall involves baby loungers made of a cloth cover with a foam sleeping pad and padded bumper. The baby loungers were advertised as “baby lounger” and “baby nest” and were sold in different printed fabrics and colors, including animal, blue star, cloud, feather, flower, forest, leaf, pink star, polar bear and zoo. “SLEEPING SET” is printed on a tag sewn on the interior of the cover.  

    The recall applies to products purchased on or after June 23, 2022, and consumers should review their Amazon purchase history to determine their purchase date. Consumers who still have the packaging can also review the packaging for a label that states the date of manufacture, marked in the format “LOT: YYYYMMDD.” This recall applies to products manufactured with “LOT” markings on the packaging of 20220623 (representing June 23, 2022) or later dates. 

    Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled baby loungers and contact Yoocaa Direct for instructions on how to receive a full refund and properly dispose of the product. Yoocaa Direct and Amazon are contacting all known purchasers directly.

    Description: This recall involves Segway Ninebot KickScooters with model number P100S and a manufacture date in 2023. The affected units have serial numbers containing the date codes 2308 or greater (e.g., xxxxx2308xxxxx, xxxx2310xxxxx, xxxxx2311xxxxx). The serial number is located on the left side of the KickScooter. The 6th and 7th digits represent the year of manufacture, and the 8th and 9th digits represent the week of manufacture. The product is black and gray with red accents, and the Segway label is on the rear fender. The KickScooter is 46 inches long, 25 inches wide and 50 inches high, and weighs about 72.5 pounds.

    Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled KickScooters and contact Segway for a free repair. Segway will direct consumers to a local store for the repair (where available) or provide a pre–paid shipping label to ship the product to a national service center for repair.     Description: This recall involves Nerf Barrage Youth bike helmets. The helmets have a blue/orange exterior, black straps, an orange buckle, and are size medium (M). NERF is printed in white lettering on the sides of the helmet. Model 6011 is printed on a label on the inside of the helmet. The lot number (LOT#) and reference number (REF#) can be found on the same label on the inside of the helmet. Only helmets with LOT# BC01BJ01-200623 and REF# 5382-BL and LOT# BC01BJ01-111521 and REF# 4970-BL are included in this recall.

    Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled Nerf Barrage helmets immediately and contact Todson Inc. for a full refund. To receive a refund, consumers should destroy the helmet by cutting off the straps, then take a photo, and send the photo to the recalling firm by email at NerfHelmetRecall@Todson.com.     Description: This recall involves Dorel full- and queen-sized wall beds sold online under the names Pinnacle, Paramount, Impressions, Holly Hills, and Her Majesty Wall Beds and as part of the brand names Signature Sleep or Novogratz. The beds were sold in white, light oak, gray oak, black oak, espresso, walnut and natural shades. They were sold with or without cabinets and lighting attached to the bedframe.

    Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled wall beds and contact Dorel for information on coordinating for reimbursable professional inspection and, if necessary, reinstallation, after submitting their professional quote to Dorel. All known purchasers are being contacted directly.

    Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received 22 reports of the beds falling, resulting in 10 injuries including concussions, contusions, cuts and bruises.
