    Units: About 840 (In addition, 94 were sold in Canada)

    Description: This recall involves all model year 2018 and 2019 Teammachine SLR01 DISC bicycles and framesets. The product is a performance road bike. BMC is printed on the downtube. The bikes and framesets were sold in red, green, grey, graphite, blue and aqua green. Recalled models contain serial numbers starting with 8R17 and 8R18, followed by one letter and a four-digit code, which is printed on the underside of the bottom bracket of the bicycle. Only bicycles and framesets with a FK6 fork require a replacement fork, which will be confirmed by BMC authorized dealers during the free inspection.

    Incidents/Injuries: BMC has received four reports of the fork steerer tube breaking while in use, with one consumer experiencing a shoulder injury that required hospitalization and surgery, and the other consumer reporting minor scratches and bruising.

    Sold At: Authorized BMC bicycle dealers and bicycle stores nationwide from July 2017 through October 2019 for between $4,500 and $12,500.

  • BCI Burke Recalls Merge Playground Climbers Due to Entrapment Hazard

    Hazard: A welded rung opening on the sides of the climber poses an entrapment hazard to children.

    Remedy: Replace. Consumers should immediately stop using the Merge Climbers and block them off from children’s use. BCI Burke is contacting all known owners directly by certified mail, and Burke representatives will inspect and replace climbers that are not compliant with the current voluntary standard for this product.

    Incidents/Injuries: Toysmith has received one report of a child swallowing one of the batteries removed from the toy. Medical attention was required to remove the battery.

    Name of product: Airome Wintergreen Essential Oil and Deep Soothe Essential Oil 100 percent Pure & Natural Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils.

    Hazard: The product contains the substance methyl salicylate, which must be in child resistant packaging as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). The packaging of the product is not child resistant, posing a poisoning risk if the contents are swallowed by young children.

    Hazard: Improper Warning Labels/FMVSS 213

    Without the safety warnings and instructions, caregivers may not know the risks or how to properly use the child seat, increasing the risk of an injury in the event of a crash.

    Remedy: DCA will notify the registered owners, and will provide a replacement fabric cover that has a compliant warning label in place, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin December 9, 2019.
