    Description: 

    Washington, D.C. — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Dania Furniture, of Boise, Idaho, are announcing the recall of the Hayden bookcase. The recalled bookcase is unstable if it is not anchored to the wall, posing tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in death or serious injuries to children. In August 2023, Dania Furniture received one report of a tip-over incident with an unanchored bookcase that resulted in the death of a 4-year-old child. 

    Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bookcase if it is not anchored to the wall, and place it in an area that children cannot access.

    About 940 of these bookcases were sold exclusively atDania Furniture stores nationwide and online at https://daniafurniture.com/ from November 2017 through February 2024 for about $370.

    The recalled Hayden bookcase contains six storage cubbies, and is made of brown wood with three sliding white doors. It measures 35.5 inches in width, 16 inches in depth, and 73 inches in height. A label located on the back of each unit contains the product name and SKU number LB2225/A.

    The bookcases were distributed by Dania Furniture. They were manufactured in Italy. 

    Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bookcase if it is not anchored to the wall and place it in an area that children cannot access. Contact Dania Furniture to set up a free in-home installation of a tip-over restraint kit. If mounting/anchoring services cannot be completed for any reason, or if consumers would prefer a refund, Dania Furniture will provide a full refund of the purchase price of the recalled bookcase to consumers and arrange for the pickup and/or disposal of the recalled bookcase. Dania Furniture is also contacting all purchasers directly.

    Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bookcase, if it is not anchored to the wall, and place it in an area that children cannot access. Contact Dania Furniture to set up a free in-home installation of a tip-over restraint kit. If mounting/anchoring services cannot be completed for any reason, or if consumers would prefer a refund, Dania Furniture will provide a full refund of the purchase price of the recalled bookcase to consumers upon its return, and arrange for the pickup and/or disposal of the recalled bookcase. Dania Furniture is also contacting all purchasers directly.

    Remedy: If training wheels are being used, consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycle, and contact their local REI store to schedule a free repair that includes replacement training wheel attachments. If it is not possible to visit an REI store, contact REI for a free repair kit to be shipped. If the bicycle is being ridden without training wheels, customers can continue using the bicycle.

    Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received four reports of the training wheels falling off. Injuries included reports of scrapes, bruising, and one involving broken arms.

    Description: This Recall involves certain battery-operated Mario Kart™ 24V Ride-on Racers with specific date codes only. The vehicles are red, white and blue in color with the letter “M” in the center of a white circle on the front of the vehicle. The vehicles have an 8-character alphanumeric manufacturing date code, in the format of XXXXVEO1, located on the bottom of the blue panel on the vehicle’s underside. The only vehicles subject to this recall have the following date codes: 1752VE01, 1782VE01, 1952VE01, 2242VE01, 2352VE01, 2852VE01, 0583VE01. Vehicles currently being sold are not involved in this recall.

    Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the 24V Ride-On cars and contact JAKKS Pacific to receive a free repair kit. The repair kit includes a free replacement pedal with installation instructions.

    Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received 65 reports of incidents of debris-clogged pedals sticking, of which 15 of the vehicles crashed into permanent structures with one minor injury, a chafed hand.

The helmets were sold in pink or blue with a sea world print and in orange or blue with a dinosaur print. All helmets have black padding, black straps and a black and red buckle. The helmets have a black plastic knob at the back of the helmet for adjusting the fitting. The model KY-E008 is printed on a white label on the inside of the helmet.

    Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled helmets and contact Chau River Sports Outdoors for a full refund. To receive a refund, consumers should destroy the helmet by cutting off the straps, and send photos of the helmet with the straps cut through the onsite messaging system by clicking on the “message” icon on Temu.com at Chau River Sports Outdoors store page as proof of destruction, then dispose of the recalled helmet.

    Description: This recall involves two styles of Sant and Abel children’s 100% cotton long pajama sets. They were sold in sizes 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, and 9-10. The neck label lists “Sant and Abel”, the size, and the fabric content. The side seam label lists the fabric content, washing instructions, and “MADE IN CHINA” and “MADE IN INDIA”. The long Henley and pant sets came in nine prints including Kids’ Sky Blue Stripe, Peony Stripe, Red Stripe and Navy Stripe PJ Sets; Kids’ Daisy, Horse, Candy Cane, Christmas and Wreath PJ Sets. The two-piece shirt and pant sets came in thirteen prints including Kids’ Leaf Pink, Green and Blue PJ Sets; Kids’ Gingham Pink, Blue and Green PJ Set; Kids’ Palm Tree Pink, Blue and Green PJ Sets; Kids’ Houndstooth PJ Set; Boys’ & Girls’ White Cambric PJ Sets; and the Girls’ Billie Neon PJ Set.

    Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled pajamas away from children, stop using them, and contact Sant and Abel for a full refund. Consumers should destroy the garments by cutting them in half and disposing of them in accordance with local and state recycling laws.
