    Description: This recall involves a set of matching baby socks and wristband which contain a small rattle sewn inside the wristband and the toe of each sock. The sets were sold in various colors and styles, including strawberry, ladybug, animals and sports themes. The product is labeled for ages 0-6 months. The hang tag on the product has the London Bridge name and logo and ‘Baby Wrist Rattle and Rattle Sock Set 0-6 months.’ The back of the hang tag includes fiber content and care information, Batch #608315, Date code October 2018 and the Item # (LB5000, LB5001, LB5002, LB5003, LB5004, LB5005, LB5006 or LB5007).

    Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the sock and rattle sets, take them away from children and return them to the store where it was purchased or contact London Bridge to receive a full refund.

    Incidents/Injuries: London Bridge has received one report of the stuffed rattle portions detaching. No injuries have been reported.

    Sold At: Independent boutique stores nationwide from January 2019 through May 2019 for about $7.

  • Dorel Juvenile Group USA Recalls Inclined Sleepers Due to Safety Concerns About Inclined Sleep Products

    Hazard: Infant fatalities have been reported while using other inclined sleep products, after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, or under other circumstances.

    Remedy: Refund. Consumers should immediately stop using the inclined sleepers and contact Dorel for a refund in the form of a $60 voucher.

    Description: This recall involves the Eddie Bauer Slumber and Soothe Bassinet with model number BT055CSY and the Disney Baby Doze and Dream Bassinet with model number BT071DHS. The model numbers are located on a label on the underneath side of the fabric of the inclined sleeper pad. The inclined sleepers are rectangular shaped with a soft bottom, cushioned fabric, stand approximately two feet off the floor and are designed for sleeping or napping infants from birth to six months of age. The Eddie Bauer Slumber and Sooth Bassinet is beige. The Disney Baby Doze and Dream Bassinet is purple.

    Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the inclined sleepers and contact Dorel for a refund in the form of a $60 voucher.

The bouncers are a part of Stokke Steps all-in-one modular seating system and can be used in combination with the Stokke Steps Chair from birth up to the age of about six months. The Stokke Steps Bouncers have a plastic arm and fabric seat and measure about 31 inches by 25 inches by 21 inches. Stokke is printed on the care label and the law tag on the bottom of the recalled bouncers.     Description: This recall involves two styles of children’s 100 percent cotton knit, long-sleeve top and pant pajama sets. The pajamas were sold in sizes 2 through 10.

    The first style was sold as a set of two pajamas. The recalled tops from this set include: a pink long-sleeve top with a dog’s face screen-printed onto the front, and two extended 3D fabricated ears. The gray long-sleeve top includes a pink bow trim located at the neckline, a pink heart screen-printed on the left chest and is paired with long pants (pink and polka dot print.) Both the top with the dog’s face and the gray top with the pink bow are being recalled. The product code for this pajama set is 0494860.

    The second style was sold as a single set. The recalled top is a white long-sleeve top with a cat’s face screen-printed on the front with two extended 3D fabricated ears, paired with long white polka dot pants. Only the top is included in this recall. The product code for this pajama set is 0537645.

    The seven-digit product (P/N) number is located on the wash care label inside the garment.

  • Join the Effort to Prevent Another Child from Dying in a Hot Car

    On July 31, recognize National Heatstroke Prevention Day by educating your community about the dangers of leaving children in hot cars

    Responding to a call for a child who dies of heatstroke in a hot car is one of those events that EMS and other public safety professionals never forget, and those who haven’t experienced it hope they never do. Since 1998, more thank 800 children have died from heatstroke in hot cars in the U.S., including 52 in 2018. On average, one child dies from heatstroke inside a vehicle nearly every 10 days in the U.S.

    Where's BabyMost cases occur when a child is mistakenly left inside or gets into a vehicle unattended – and then becomes trapped. It doesn’t take an especially hot day for a child to die from heatstroke. When the outside temperature is as low as 60 degrees, the temperature inside a vehicle can reach all the way up to 110 degrees. If a child’s body temperature reaches 107 degrees, that child will die from heatstroke.

    The Office of EMS encourages the EMS community to join NHTSA’s efforts to educate parents, caregivers and the public by sharing campaign materials available on https://www.nhtsa.gov/heatstroke and remembering to #checkforbaby on and off the clock.

    To promote further social awareness and amplify the conversation about this vitally important safety issue, NHTSA will host a “Tweet-Up” on National Heatstroke Prevention Day. Every 15 minutes, beginning at 7 a.m. ET on July 31, NHTSA officials will post stats, prevention tips and heatstroke awareness messages using the hashtags #heatstrokekills and #checkforbaby on all the agency’s social media channels. Share these messages with your colleagues and community members to make sure they know the dangers of heatstroke.

    This year, NHTSA is also asking everyone to participate in the Heatstroke Awareness Challenge.
